Self heating coffee? Huh?   :?    You’re kidding, right?!

Heck no! The people over at OnTech have come out with this nifty container which is self heating!     :o

There are easy to understand instructions right on the container. Once you activate that mo-fo, you’ve got a hot Mocha in five minutes! No microwave or stove required! w00h00! They not only have coffee, but they’ve also got tea, soup, and cocoa!!!

Next time you’re waiting in line at a coffee shop, frustrated at taking time out from your busy day, remember that whether you are on your way to work, driving to a soccer game, or just on ehw ay home for a movie night, Hillside Coffee is the most convenient and delicious on-the-go option. Available in four great flavors: French Vanilla, Mocha, Hazelnut, or Doubleshot.

I personally tried the Mocha variety. I was astounded when I took the first sip and not only was it super hot, but tasted really good as well! These little suckers are kinda spendy…I’ve seen them from $2-$3 a piece, but if you’re in a bind, I think it’s a good buy. Of course, you want to keep in mind that just because it feels heavy doesn’t mean that’s the weight of what you’ll be drinking. The junk inside that makes it heat up weighs quite a bit from what I can tell. My professional estimation is that you’re getting about 12 onces of tasty goodness. Not too shabby, really!

Anyway, that’s my recommendation for today. I really enjoyed it…it was a pleasant surprise!  BTW - HERE is a video I took of Lonnie earlier. He didn’t want me to post it, but damn it…he’s just so adorable and handsome. How can I resist?

I woke up early this morning so that I could make a treat for my family…Coffee Cake!  I decided to take pictures along the way so I could share them with my readers.

Soooo…let’s get started, shall we?     :)

First, I had to set the oven for 350° …

While the oven warmed up,

I sprayed pan with cooking spray …

Once I got all the dry ingredients together,

I had to whisk ‘em in with an egg and some water…
Dry mix

Now that it was all mixed up properly,

I spread half of the mixture into the bottom of the baking dish…

Once there was a fairly level layer of batter

in the bottom of the baking dish,

I grabbed a measuring cup and filled it

with a mixture of cinnamon, sugar,

and other such numminess….

At this point, I sprinkled a lovely layer

of said mixture over the entire pan of batter.

Now that I’d done that,

I had to create different little globs of batter

on top of the cinnamon and sugar concoction…

Once the globs of dough had been made,

it was time to sprinkle more of the

cinnamon and sugar stuff over the top…

As you’ve probably picked up on by now,
there’s pretty much a layering effect going on here.   ;)

Anyway….here’s what it looked like after I’d loaded up the glob layer with the cinnamon/sugar tastiness…

At this point, I grabbed a butter knife and swirled it around a bit…mixing the dough up a bit.     :D

I really got that knife in there and mixed it around a bit….

I was going for pretty much a marble looking effect…

So, now that all the layering is done,

it’s time to slide the Coffee Cake into the ol’ oven!

Can’t forget to set the timer!

And now that it’s in the oven,

it’s time to make myself a big ol’ tumbler of coffee!

Can’t forget the Hazelnut creamer.

It makes the world go ’round!

After a while had gone by and I’d already ingested a tumbler of coffee,

I figured I’d better check on the Coffee Cake

to see how well it was coming along…

Not only was it looking totally flippin’ killer,

but it was smelling soooo good, too!

I was chillaxing and doing my best to be patient

when I finally heard the timer go off!     :D

YAY! Time to take the tasty treat out of the oven!!!

Ooooh boy! I can’t begin to tell you

how good that thing smelled!     8)

Here it is cooling on a rack!

Lastly, here is a picture of the sacred

Coffee Cake with a piece cut out of it…

I can’t express how good this thing was!

My daughter and I sat on our stools next to the counter

and slowly ate our hunks of cake.     :D

• The people who run Comcast are nazis.

• I have an appointment with a doctor on Monday - for my back/neck injury. I can’t take it anymore. I’ve put off going to a doctor for way too long…now I just can’t put it off anymore. I hurt too much everyday.

• I’m boycotting Hormel. I’ll write a separate blog entry with all the details.

• I’ve been boycotting KFC for almost four years…for similar reasons.

• I’m no longer a member of PETA. I used to be a very active member…and was proud of it. For a while, though, they’ve been pretty unreal. I am ALL for animal welfare and all that jive. The people at PETA, though, are way too over the top for me anymore. I don’t want to associate myself with a group of people who are that flippin’ far out in left field.

• I know I’ve said it before, but I CANNOT WAIT to do that lemonade cleansing diet thing. I’m dying with anticipation!

• Monday, September 29, 2008 is National Coffee Day! Can you believe it?! The day before my birthday is National Coffee Day…then my birthday is on the 30th of September..and then Casey’s birthday is on the 1st of October!!! Talk about a three day run of awesomeness! w00h00!

• I’m hungry.

• I heard from my good friend, Jenn. I’m so happy and relieved to know that she’s happy. She’s been through so much crap in her life…it does my heart good to know that she’s being taken care of and that she’s content. We haven’t been friends for that long (less than a year), but we both agree that it feels like much longer. I’m so lucky to have such awesome people in my life.

• I already mentioned that the people at Comcast are total nazis, right? Okay…just making sure.

• I’m wearing my son’s shirt today. He got kinda pissy when he saw that I had it on. (doh!) I told him, “Hey! It was left in the dryer. Items in the dryer are fair game!” He didn’t like that too much. He never even wears this shirt, so gosh…I don’t see what the big deal is. I told him that we should work some sort of barter out so I can just keep the shirt. He’s willing to humor it…all I have to do is come up with something good in exchange. That shouldn’t be a problem.

• I took a Baclofen earlier and now my tongue is totally numb.          Man, that’s a weird feeling.

• I’ve been having some really freaky dreams lately. I wouldn’t say they’re nightmares…just really intense and trippy.

• Lonnie keeps bananas in the fridge, and I freakin’ hate that. GROSS! Who wants a cold banana? Not me, darn it.

• Why am I such a sucker for these Internet thingies where you type in what you’re doing? I love them…not just a little, either. I LOVE them!

• I got an account at Plurk the other day. I really, really like it there. The only problem is remembering to post on it. I have so much other junk going on that I sometimes space out!

• In case you haven’t noticed yet, my site is back to running smoothly. Yay! I got sick and tired of it being so slow, so I took some time to look through my code and make sure it was all okay. I’m so happy I did that. I found a section of code that had, for some reason, gone all screwy. Now the site is loading at a proper rate and everything. Yesss! Such a relief! I don’t have to worry about transferring it to a different server or anything.

• I’m getting a headache.

• I cannot get enough of the Instant Rimshot! I have that sucker ready to go at all times. When Lonnie says something funny, BAM! I hit the red button. Even if he’s not saying something funny, I hit it. It kinda pisses him off when I hit the button when he’s in the middle of being upset with me for something…but that just makes me do it even more! Hahaha…I’m such a turd.

• It’s 10:15 at night and I’ve not eaten anything yet today. I suppose I should probably do that soon.

• Lonnie just decided to reboot the server and not tell me about it. I’m sitting here cussing at my computer thinking the reason I can’t access anything is because it’s a piece of crap. Come to find out, he rebooted the server without saying a freakin’ word. How irritating.

• My hair is getting so grey. I knew I had lots of greys in there, but wow. I took a picture of myself two days ago and saw how much the greys stand out. It’s depressing. I’m going to dye it. I feel so old, ugly, and dumpy with the greys showing like this. I let Lonnie convince me not to cover ‘em up for long enough. Now I’m going to do what I want to do.

• I’m craving an Oreo milkshake from Jack In The Box. Oh man, those are SO good. Way too fattening, but still…incredible. (That was a picture of Lonnie’s strawberry shake and my Oreo shake from almost a year ago, BTW. I made that picture for him and posted it on his MySpace page.)

• Okay, that did it. Talking about an Oreo shake made me really hungry. I think I’m going to go eat…finally.

I’m sorry that I’ve not posted anything in the past couple of days. I’ve just been really busy. I don’t want anyone to think I’m ditching my site or anything - nothing could be further from the truth.

Here’s an FYI - Lonnie and I went over to a friend’s house for dinner last night. It was killer! :D  They made Chicken Enchiladas….holy crap…they were SO good.  They have a baby who’s about five months old. I got to hold him and play with him…that pretty much made my year. He couldn’t possibly be more cute and/or sweet!

Anyway, we had a great time. We’re looking forward to hooking up with them again very soon. We’ll invite them over to our place, I’m sure. I’d enjoy making Manicotti (my specialty) for them…and also watching them play Guitar Hero. I personally DETEST that game. I honestly don’t think I could hate it more than I do. It’s Satan in a game for me…but everyone else seems to enjoy it. It’s worth watching everyone else having a good time, anyway.

Soooo, anyway….sorry I’ve not posted in the past couple of days. I promise to get back to it ASAP!
