Apparently the time has come to Nominate Your My.Opera Favorites.

By Friday November 21st (my Dad’s birthday!) nomination will close and finalists in each category will be publicly announced. Same as last year, we will rely on community vote, and voting will begin Monday November 24th and last for two weeks. We will provide everyone with cool banners and graphics they can put on their blog/site to increase their winning chances.

Last year they printed diplomas for the winners, but this year they’ve gone a bit farther and have something more cool: Moods of Norway Opera t-shirts!

They are exclusive t-shirts you can’t buy in any store.

So there we have it. Now we just need to think our nominations out pretty well prior to voting. Of course, I’m not going to lie and say that I’d not be THRILLED to win one or more of the categories, but I will be genuinely happy for whomever does win.Now I’ve got some real contemplating to do - as I’m sure the rest of you do as well.

 • As the title of this entry suggests, it’s really gloomy again today. I say “again” because it was this way yesterday as well. I’d normally be okay with it, but it seems to be depressing the heck out of me today. Oh well…this, too, shall pass.  

• I’m listening to Alice In Chains - “Jar of Flies”…which is probably a pretty stupid move since it depresses me as well.       Duh!

• We took my son to the doctor last night. He wiped out on his bike the night before and hurt his arm. After getting x-rays and whatnot, we learned that it’s not broken - just a bad sprain.  Whew!  They gave him some Tylenol 3 and put his arm in a splint thingy. He’s got to wear it for 4-5 days and then he should be just fine.

• I’ve been having some REALLY messed up dreams lately. Last night, I dreamed that my boyfriend was an executioner. It wasn’t Lonnie…some other guy who had an uncanny resemblance to Leatherface.  Not his face (thank God)…just his build and choice of attire.    :lol:

• I have been watching a show on BBC America called “Skins“.  It’s quite entertaining. It’s kinda like an English version of Beverly Hills 90210 or Dawson’s Creek…but WAY less gay and lame.        It deals with sex, drugs, and coming of age…etc.  I recommend it.

• My Mom went to this place here in Vancouver called Jerusalem Cafe on her way home from a job interview today.  She said the guy who owns it is super nice…his name is Anton, which totally doesn’t fit for an Arab, but okay.        Apparently he ripped my Mom a new one for being ashamed of her heritage.  She’s always lied and told people she was born in San Francisco instead of the truth that she was born in Palestine. She’s dealt with a lot of discrimination in her life, so she says it’s easier to lie than to be up front and tell people she’s an Arab. I say BUNK! I am very, very proud to be Arabic, and if someone doesn’t like it, they can bite my Arab keister. That’s pretty much what Anton told my Mom, too…so maybe she’ll finally start being proud of what she is rather than ashamed. That’d be a really nice change.

• I downloaded IrfanView again. I used to use it years ago, but then for some reason I started using MS Picture Manager instead. I like IrfanView much more. Animated gifs are actually animated when you view them…rather than being still pictures like they are with MS Picture Manager.

• I’ve been sending my BFF, Sarah, text messages from my computer. Hehe…it’s pretty fun, actually. I’m easily entertained, I guess. The only problem is that I’m worried that she’s being charged every time I send a text message, so I’m doing it less than I would like to.  (Sarah, if you’re reading this, please let me know if you’re being charged or not, okay?)

• I said it before, and I will say it again - if you want me to link to you on my sidebar, just let me know! I’m wanting more junk over there, so I’m more than happy to oblige.   

• Speaking of my sidebar, I don’t know if you’ve noticed or not, but I have an Anti-Obama thingy over there.  I would like to clarify that I am in no way, shape, or form a Republican. (other than the fact that I’m totally pro-life)  I will not be voting for McCain, either. I can’t stand the guy. I really, really can’t stand Obama, though, so that’s why I’ve got that there. That’s all I will say on the matter. The last thing I want is another political debate. I pretty much couldn’t hate political debates more than I do right now.

• I really need to pee!      I’ll be right back!…….

• School starts on the 3rd of September, and we’ve yet to buy any clothes or supplies.  My daughter asked me the other day, “Why do we always do the shopping right before school starts?”   I just kinda stood there and said, “Umm, I have no idea. I guess we’re just last minute kinds of people.”  Really good explanation.  :roll:

• My Mom is going to make Salmon for dinner tonight. Mmmm….I loves me a hunk o’ Salmon!

• I am SO cold right now. Lonnie has the A/C cranked up way too high.      I hate it when our body thermostats aren’t in sync.

• Okay, that’s enough babbling for now.  I’m going to go throw some clothes in the washing machine and do a few other things around the house.  Have a super-duper day and I’ll babble at you again soon!  

• Today’s been a pretty good one so far. I’m in an unusually good mood. It’s kinda freaky, to be honest with you. I mean, yeah - it’s good to be happy…but this chipper?  

• I just remembered that I need to install a smiley pack on here. I know I’ve said it a billion times before, but I think I will really do it today. I’m so tired of the lame default smilies.

• My daughter is next door playing with her friend. They’re having a blast on the Slip ‘n Slide.  I used to love those things when I was a kid. I’d be out there playing on it, too, but I have work I’m supposed to be doing.

• Uh, yeah…blogging isn’t the work I’m referring to.

• I just finished off a pot of coffee. I think I’ll stop there. One pot per day is enough for me lately. When I drink two or more pots, I get a bit hyperactive. The last thing my family needs is me bouncing off the walls.

• I made the slutty bunny graphic I’m using on here earlier today. The blue color is the same blue that’s used in the clouds in the header of my blog.

• I feel all bloated and icky today. Don’t ya’ hate it when that happens? Or are you lucky enough to never get that feeling?

• Some jackass left a few rude comments on my blog yesterday. Really mature.

• OH! I can’t believe I haven’t blogged it sooner, but my Step-Mom called me yesterday to let me know that my Dad had just gotten out of surgery. The doctor said that it couldn’t possibly have gone better. My Dad is doing really, really well! Yay! I’m so relieved.

• For the first time ever, I’m considering not voting. That’s a huge thing coming from me. I’ve always been a big advocate of voting. The problem is that I don’t want to vote for someone I don’t want to be in office. It’s basically down to Obama and McCain now. I cannot stand either of them. I honestly can’t even say which of them is the lesser of two evils. They’re both evil squared. I absolutely hate the idea of not voting…but I don’t know what else to do. I refuse to place a vote for someone I don’t support. That’s pretty much like lying.  

• I can’t believe I just said anything about politics. The last time I blogged anything about politics, it created a big ol’ debate, and bah! I don’t want people bitching each other out on my blog.

• I’m very worried about my friend, Carlos.

• I baked two loaves of Banana Bread a couple days ago. Did I already blog about that? *thinking* I don’t remember.

• My son has a window air conditioner in his room now. He’s keeping it so cold in there, I’m concerned that he’ll get frostbite or something.

• My foot just fell asleep!  I hate that! Pins & needles! Pins & needles!

• I guess I should go get some work done now before Lonnie gets all pissy with me. I can’t really blame him…it’s not fair that I’m sitting here having fun while he’s working. I’m such a spoiled brat sometimes!

• Have a wonderful day…don’t let anyone get you down. Nobody is worth that.

 • I haven’t written anything on this blog in a while, so I figured it was about time. The last thing I want is for people to think I’ve abandoned it. Nothing could be further from the truth. I’ve just been really busy lately.

• This whole Member of The Week thing over on the Opera community has proven to be really interesting so far. I can’t believe how many hits to my page it’s brought in. I mean, I figured it would bring a person a lot of new people, but it’s really cool to see just how many people actually pay attention to that thing.

• It’s almost 21:30 right now. Lonnie’s doing his thing, so I figured I’d do mine, too. My shoulders are killing me, so I should be taking it easy, but I need to get some stuff done on my computer first…like this!

• I’m listening to the Silent Hill soundtrack right now. It’s not too bad - pretty mellow.

• I had a ThermaCare heat wrap on my shoulders for a couple hours. I finally had to take it off because it was making me overheat. Now my shoulders feel like they’ve had hot coals sitting on them.

• I am going to be making more cupcakes soon. This time I’m going to decorate them to look like little bewbs. It’ll be good fun! I’ve never decorated them like that before, so hopefully they won’t end up looking horrible.

• My Tulips have begun to bloom! So far, there are a couple which will be red. Yay! I don’t know if they’ll all be red or not…we’ll just have to wait and see.

• I’m really getting tired of the rain. I know I’ve already said it like 6938475 times before, but it’s REALLY getting old. It needs to stop already. I want sun SO badly!

• I’ve been thinking about not voting lately. Not only do I not know who to vote for, but I honestly don’t even think it matters. I think this country has gotten to the point where voting is a farce. Whomever “they” want to be in office will be in office.

• I’m thinking of going to the doctor for some pain meds. Not tonight…but maybe tomorrow. I totally and completely hate to complain and seem like a whiner, but really…my shoulders and neck hurt me so badly lately. This is turning into a fairly bad flare-up. Why should I sit here in excruciating pain when I can go get something to help me through this? Other than the fact that I hate taking meds, I can think of no reason. So yeah…I’ll go to the doc tomorrow…maybe.

• Lonnie just asked me what I’m listening to. I told him. He said, “I’m surprised you’re listening to that.” I guess he hasn’t grown accustomed to my taste yet. *sigh* I listen to all sorts of music…I guess it just kinda throws him off guard when I throw something really mellow into the mix.

• I need to post a Random Person of The Day© picture. I’ve really been bad about doing that lately. Actually, I think I’m going to wrap this up so I can go do that. Take ‘er easy!
